The script ‘மெல்லினம்’ was born out of our society’s reluctance to accept children with learning disabilities as integral members. Embracing a more open-minded approach is crucial, as we hold the key to seamlessly integrating these budding individuals into our societal fabric.

Beautiful AP. The best so far from you. And I echo your sentiments – people who are normal otherwise look embarassed when faced with these kids. I feel we should not have a condescending attitude towards them and this would go a long way in ‘merging these buds’ with the society

Very true Praveen. We have a major part. My dream is , if we ever succeed in our school I would get the infrastructure ready for these kids and have 2 kids atleast in each class. When rest of the kids grow up they would also know how the new generation should evolve. Hoping that day is not too far.

I think this applies to the adult world as well. Some people are socially awkward, some are analytically not gifted. This is a reflection of a lack of those qualities not being accepted as kids. They may not be seen as disabilities but they carry forward into adult life. Integrating all types of children together and helping them to appreciate each other is important. As adults we set the tone for the kids, we can even set the tone for this in our adult interactions.
